In this assignment, we were supposed to take a photo of the school and manipulate it and add different things that you normally wouldn't see in a school. I decided to make my theme Harry Potter and I used gimp to help me do this.
This week's assignment, I chose to do the still life/product since I went to the auto show. The one I chose as the best one, was picked because it focused primarily on one color and had a reflection against the floor which I thought added to the picture. The only dilemma I came across was that it had to be taken through glass, and there were lines through the picture because of where the glass separated. By getting rid of the lines, I used gimp to edit them out by using the new techniques we've used within the past week.
For this gimp assignment, we learned some basic and somewhat advance techniques to edit photos to enhance the quality of the photo. We learned how to get rid of distraction in the background, to enhance colors, and to get rid of light reflections that are unnecessary. The end result was a photo of a car that could be seen in a magazine.
This week I focused on the digital macro setting and took pictures of a baby and his pacifier that's at the daycare my mom works at. With the macro setting, you can easily see the fuzz that is on the pacifier, which you can't necessarily see with the naked eye. I really liked the photos of him crying in the background because it made him seem like he really wanted the pacifier, which I thought added to the picture, but the picture I chose as THE best was the one that truly showed the unseen details on the pacifier, which is what the macro setting is all about. And I promise the baby didn't even want the pacifier :)

For this assignment, we used a picture of a person and created a "pop art" effect. We did so by copying the image four times, and giving each image a different color. This effect was suppose to resemble Andy Warhol's work like he did for Campbell's Soup and Marilyn Monroe.
